New • 1.8.0 - tab - issues with Empty

XnViewMP 1.8.0 64bit
Windows11 (23H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%

General - tab
issues with <Empty> tab

To reproduce:
0. clean portable version
1. goto Settings > Interface > Tabs
- uncheck 'Closing last tab exits app'
- press OK
start with file
2. have 1 image in folder
3. open image and delete it (eg via Del shortcut)
image is deleted, <Empty> tab remains open - OK
start without file
2. run app
3. close Browser tab
Browser tab is close, <Empty> tab remains open - OK

Issue A
4. try to
- close <Empty> tab (via clicking on X OR middle click on tab OR Ctrl+W OR Esc) OR
- switch to Browser tab via Enter
nothing happens
expected behavior
<Empty> tab to behave as regular tab (same as here)


Issue B
4. check menu, some items are enabled:
File - Save a copy...
Edit - Automatic crop...
View - Show alpha...
Metadata - Tag/Untag current
Metadata - Clean metadata...
Tools - Send by email...
Tools - Send by ftp...
